A fine day out.

Last weekend we enjoyed a fine day out. It had been my Birthday on the Friday so I requested a family day out at the lovely Country Show taking place in Mum and Dad's lovely little town last Saturday. There was me and S, Mum and Dad, and my Sis, Brother in Law and the dear Nephew and Niece. We were able to walk to the showground and were so lucky that the sun shone on us all day.

I love these kind of shows as they still have lovely nostalgic feel to them I think. They're as they've always been. Lots of animals to see, displays, competitions, lovely crafts and yummy food to buy and try. I particularly enjoyed the competition tent. We had to pay a visit in there as Mum had entered one of the flower arranging competitions. Rather ashamed to say that I didn't take a photo of her arrangement! I was too busy snapping the gorgeous blooms pictured at the top of this post. Dahlia's are one of my absolute favourite flowers and I couldn't take my eyes off these displays. I love all the clashing colours. There were some really fabulous creations in the competitions tent. Some of the childrens competitions in particular were amazing and I even caught my soppy Husband with tears in his eyes looking at some of them. Normal behaviour of a father to be I guess.

Of course there was lots of very up to the minute farm equipment on display which dear little nephew H was rather taken with, but my favourite was this dear little vintage tractor.

I very much liked these two ladies. They're kind of quite ugly really but they have the most stunning eyes.

I'm already looking forward to next years show and as it will be my actual Birthday that day next year I can't think of a better place to celebrate.

Well I think it's time I made my first coffee of the day and tried to wake sleepy hubbie with a cup of tea. I've been up for hours and I think it's time he joined me!
Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you again next week. x

I have never been to an agricultural show...
My town used to host one, but sadly it was too expensive for our family of 5 to go to!
I`m glad that you are back and that you had a fun day out!

Country shows are always great fun. A visit to the tea tent is always welcome after a walk around, as there is usually a good selection of tasty home-baked cakes!

Enjoy your weekend, Fiona.
