One day of sun
We spent six days in Dorset last week. We went to our favourite place, a gorgeous campsite high above Swanage and I was looking forward to it so much. But as ever at the end of August the unpredictable British weather conspired to make it something of a wash out. There were a couple of nights when I thought our tent was literally going to take off and go flying down the hill with us in it! We would have stayed until this weekend but after a particularly bad night on Wednesday and waking to the sound of rain on the canvas yet again, my lovely husband announced that enough was enough and I was more than happy to go with his decision. I have never been so happy to step into our lovely hot shower and snuggle up in our cosy bed on Thursday evening knowing that we were safe from the wind and rain.
We were lucky though that we had one really lovely day of sun and we visited somewhere I have wanted to visit in a long time. The lovely town of Shaftesbury was not a disappointment and the view down Gold Hill was everything I had imagined it to be. There's always a silver lining in every rain cloud.

So beautiful.
I remember walking up Gold Hill ~ it is certainly steep! Dorset is a beautiful part of the country.

Just caught up with your blogging Fiona - you were only 3 miles from Dairy House when you went to Gold Hill. Wish I'd know you were there!!
Hope all's going well. I see you're leaving blogging again for a while. Keep me posted!
