Prettifying

Is there such a word as prettifying and if so have I spelt it correctly? Don't think I have but you get the point.

I've been busy making a few new things for our bedroom. I'm not 100% keen on our black bed frame so rather than go to the hassle of painting it I've made a patchwork throw to go over the head end. I'm really pleased with how it looks.

I also quickly threw together a cover for the lampshade on my side of the bed which was plain cream and a little boring. Just need to make one for the other side now.

After all the sewing I've been doing over the last few months to sell, it's been really nice to make some things for our house instead.

I finished off with this new cushion cover. For anyone who's interested the pretty pink and blue stripe used in all three items is from Louise Loves.

Thank you to everyone who left messages on my last post. The interview went well I felt and I'm waiting to hear hopefully about a second interview. They seem to work at an incredibly slow pace so not worried that I haven't heard yet. I'll keep you posted. x

Friday Update~ disappointment on the job front I'm afraid. The company have decided to 'go back to the drawing board' what ever that means. Basically there isn't a job anymore! Although they thought I was fantastic. Not much use being fantastic if it doesn't result in a job. Very very disappointed to say the least. It was the first interview I had got in 9 months of unemployment. Just no jobs around. To look on the bright side, Simon is on hols from today for the next 6 weeks. So there are some benefits to being at home! Six weeks with my gorgeous hubbie ~ what could be nicer!

You have such a pretty bedroom. I think a lot of men like it when their wife makes the changes. It gives them a more comfortable, homey place. I hope that one or the other job interview goes well for you.

I really love your work, particularly the felt and button heart shapes. It is nice to see another part of your work. Really pretty throw and cushions, those pinks are very warm and inviting. Hope the news of the job goes well. Margie.

Good luck with the job!!
Prettyfying seems to be the word at the moment. If you look at my latest post you will see why!!
Love the patchwork, and cute cushion, that fabric is lovely.
Looking at previous posts, I must have a look at your shop, your items are gorgeous!!

Take care, and my fingers are crossed for you : )

Hiya,

I prefer the name of this blog to the one you changed to. I love the pretty rosey things! :-)

Hi Fiona,

Your bedroom is delightful. It looks so cosy and inviting.

Sorry to read about your disappointment with the job ~ I know how frustrating the whole process is, as I have been looking since March.

Enjoy the summer.

Hugs,

Hi Fiona
I feel pretty bad as I needed to catch up on your blog and feel like I have abandoned you! Sorry.

Sorry to hear you have had few awful months, I do hope it gets better for you.

I love what you have done to the bedroom, we have a terrible black bed (not like your nice one) and I think you have given me an idea - not sure the hubby will be pleased!

I have been keeping a tabs on your work though, you have been making some beautiful pieces, lots of heart things, you must be in love! ;-)
Take care
Emx

Please don't be sad, I know what it is like to keep missing out. I am trying to get my career back on track after a "maternal hiatis" you would swear I was swine flu on legs the way I am treated or otherwise I am treated like a fool....BUT there is a job out there for me I just have to find it! Your blog exudes gentleness and lovelieness, I am guessing you are like this too. So don't lose heart lovely girl. Maybe we need to look to our own resources!
